Strategic Procurement Reviews


We have undertaken reviews of existing purchasing and procurement capability on a UK, pan European and Global basis for a variety of companies from FTSE 20 to small start ups. We can provide assistance in the following key areas:

    • Spend analysis – complex analysis of spend data to identify target areas of focus, key suppliers and quality of existing information.
    • Organisation – defining the organisation which suits your company by conducting As Is, To Be and Gap analysis.
    • Systems – defining requirements, assessing current systems capability against requirements,
    • People – assessing capability of existing staff, defining roles, recruiting or setting development plans against these roles
    • Processes – decomposition of existing processes and identification and development of required target processes
    • Change Plans – developing a detailed change plan to support outputs from reviews
Procurement Transformation, Change Management


We have undertaken reviews of existing purchasing and procurement capability on a UK, pan European and Global basis for a variety of companies from FTSE 20 to small start ups. We can provide assistance in the following key areas:

    • Stakeholder Management – mapping stakeholders, advising on strategies for managing stakeholders, designing stakeholder communications.
    • Programme Management – designing robust plans for implementation with bespoke reports to allow clients to manage their individual projects to time and budget; defining and setting up Governance structures.
    • Target Operating Model Design – developing new operating models by running workshops, bringing leading practice templates and experience to the table. Designing detailed Blueprints.
eProcurement


We have introduced organisations to different ways of Purchasing using up to date techniques including e Auctions, e Tendering and Procurement Cards.

    • E Auctions – we have assisted clients with selecting an e Auction provider and running eAuctions. We can provide support with supplier on-boarding, lotting strategies, bid sheet design and post auction evaluation. We have run e Auctions on both goods and services including, most recently, pharmaceuticals, car fleet, call centre services, print and capital equipment.
    • eTendering – we have introduced eTendering to a number of clients – significantly reducing the time taken to evaluate bids and tenders. We develop in depth tender documentation with detailed evaluation criteria allowing clients to assess competing tenders in a fair and transparent way.
    • Procurement Cards – for low value spend using a procurement card can be the ideal solution. We have assisted clients with selection of a card provider, negotiation and implementation of the solution.
Training and coaching


We have developed and delivered bespoke training programmes and individual coaching for a variety of clients.

    • Category Management – we have developed customised category management training courses for several major clients in different industries including utilities and automotive.
    • Coaching – where a client has a number of people with different levels of skills and knowledge we have developed tailor made modular training programmes and coached individuals.
Interim Management


Our consultants have stepped into interim roles to deliver specific programmes when the client has not had suitable staff available. Recent examples are:

    • Procurement Director – For a leading UK charity one of our consultants took the role of Procurement Director to deliver a £3m savings programme on £17m of spend in 6 months.
    • Head of Category Management – one of our consultants took this role at a major UK retailer with a team of 20 and 8 direct reports to deliver a £70m saving programme on £1,000m expenditure. Included recruitment and development of Category Managers.
    • Category Director – Our consultants have taken this role for a number of clients – running the category including developing category plans and strategies, running tender exercises, developing sourcing strategies, leading negotiations and delivering multi-million pound benefits.
    • Collaborative Sourcing Team lead – We have run teams across companies, geographies and for consortia. We coach the team in leading practice category management techniques and introduce or develop documentation, run workshops to agree inputs and outputs and report benefits.
    • Bid Support – we have also provided tender and bid support for many different purchases including major ERP implementations.
